The basic inspiration behind the name 9tanki is how film making emerged in India - the idea was to entertain people. Make them forget all their problems and worries. Make them a part of a virtual world and live a parallel life.
In the earlier times there were these travelers who went from one place to another performing acts of different genres - romance, drama, suspense, comedy, and so on. They were referred to as nautankees. Similarly, we are a bunch of non-actors, non-directors. non-script writers who love Indian cinema. We pose, we fake, we dance, we crack the worst PJs. We can make people cry and we can make them laugh.
